What we do

Our initiatives address the most pressing needs of our beneficiaries, ensuring families and communities can live safely, sustainably, and with dignity. We focus on Food Security and Livelihoods, Environmental Protection, WASH, Nutrition, and Health. Here is a snapshot of our key interventions.

Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL)

SAHARI strengthens community resilience by improving access to food, increasing household income, and expanding sustainable livelihood opportunities. Our programs focus on empowering women, youth, and vulnerable farmers with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to build secure and dignified lives.

Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH)

SAHARI improves access to clean water, safe sanitation, and essential hygiene practices for vulnerable communities and schools across Sudan. Through sustainable infrastructure, behavior-change initiatives, and targeted support for children, we help prevent disease and promote long-term community wellbeing.

Child protection

In Sudan’s conflict-affected areas, children face extreme risks including family separation, violence, exploitation, trauma, and loss of access to essential services. SAHARI works to reduce these dangers and safeguard children’s well-being in the most urgent circumstances.

Health and Nutrition

We help participants explore skilled trades careers through pre-apprenticeship pathways that combine hands-on learning and essential employment skills.

Peace Building and conflict resolution

Our Storytelling While Learning Skills initiative combines creativity, community, and empowerment. Participants learn practical skills while sharing and celebrating their journeys as newcomers and women of diverse backgrounds.

Environmental Conservation

We connect clients with trusted community resources that address a wide range of settlement and integration needs.

Women’s Empowerment

We offer culturally sensitive counselling and Support services to help women navigate challenges and access support safely.
